BHIM App Guide

Morning to all...

I am back with Government of India's revolutionary app called BHIM.

BHIM - BHarat Interface for Money.

BHIM is launched by our Hon. PM Shri Narendrabhai Modi to boost up for Digital Cashless India. BHIM is developed for naive users who are totally unaware of the digital banking system. BHIM has very simple and clear interface. It has zero complexity. As it focuses on newbies, it supports only one account to use in.

First of all there are some pre-requisites for using UPI ..

• Bank a/c (UPI enabled bank. All are enabled except CITI bank)
• Mobile number should be linked with bank a/c
• Smart Phone with internet facility
• Debit Card for re-setting MPIN.
• Mobile Number should not be linked with more than one Account in same bank.

If you have done above all then you are good to go...Let's start...

I will guide you step by step through photos.

Step 1:

Go to Play Store and type BHIM in search box.

Step 2:

Then Install PhonePe.

Wait for finishing installation.

Step 3:

BHIM asks you to choose your language when you first time opens it. You can change your language at any time.

After clicking Let's Get Started.

Now,  select your mobile type.

Step 6:

After clicking Next, It will prompt you for sending Message through your phone.

Please send message only from that number which is linked to your Bank Account.

Step 7:

Once, your mobile number is verified with bank.

BHIM will ask you to set your 4-Digit PIN which is only for BHIM app and it will not work outside this app.

Step 8:

After setting your passcode, Select you bank.

After selecting bank, app will automatically show you details of your bank account.

Confirm that , and insert your debit card number if asks.

Then, set your 6-digit UPI MPIN.

I leave this process upon you.

This 6-digit UPI MPIN is univesral for this bank account. It will be also used for UPI transactions out of this app. So, do not share with anyone. 

Step 9:

Once, all is set. This is your main screen.

You can see that the menu of BHIM is not so much complex.

First, go to the Bank Account to see your bank details.

You can also see you your balance by entering 6-digit UPI MPIN.

Now, go to Profile from main menu.

Step 10:

This is my profile page. 

Right now, I have only one VPA, which is automatically generated by app that is my number.

i.e. 123456789@upi

This whole UPI system is running on VPA. So, it must be unique.

You can set your own VPA. Click on Add Payment Address.

Step 11:

                         

Here, sangitanmodi1@upi is my second VPA. Now, go to SEND from main menu.

Step 12 :

You can send money by two ways.

First is by the VPA and second is by bank account details.

This image is showing first way.

You have to enter VPA of person whom you want to send money.

Then click on verify and confirm the receiver.

Here, receiver is yashmodi@upi.

Step 13:

Refer Image.

After clicking PAY, it will ask you to enter 6-digit MPIN to complete your transaction.

NOTE: BHIM also provides the facility of refund of money which means you can roll back your transaction if it was mistaken.

Step 14:

Go to send from main menu and click on right most upper corner, then select ACCOUNT + IFSC as shown in image.

Step 15:

Fill this details correctly and then send.

A great care must be taken while doing this.

Step 16:

You can see your all transaction history through transaction tab in main menu.

You will also get notify when you receive payment from someone.

Do not forget to log out after using app.
